1. Family 2. Friends 3. Professional Life 4. Neighbors 5. Extended Family 6. Old Friends 7. Early Birds 7. Yourself
You know where your closest family acutally live, afterall you've been there! But have you actually written down their address? Now is the time! Parents, sisters, brothers... all of them should be at the top of your Christmas Card List. For a special touch you can include children on the card, which might just make thier day.
Let's also include granparents and great-grandparents if you're lucky enough. They are an important part of your heritage and should recieve a Christmas greeting to match that importance.
Next up is the family you get to choose, your Friends! These are the people you text, call or actually talk to in real life. You might meet once a month for book club or see each other at church regularly. These are the ones you could hand your holiday cards out to, saving the cost of the stamp! But it could be a good time to get those addresses on the list anyway. In the case of church friends, you could check the church directory so you don't have ask them directly.
Some offices trade holiday cards with everyone, while others clearly do not. You're going to have to judge this one on your own. It could be a good idea to post one in the break room for everyone to share, it saves the expense of getting a card for everyone. It's a good idea to keep in mind the seriousness of your card, it may not be appropriate to share a funny or very personal card.
Perhaps not all your coworkers should get a card. You could choose to mail your greeting to a few special lunch friends. You could give your boss a holiday greeting as a reminder that you actually have a family!
If you're in a networking profession, you may have special holiday greetings that would go out to your prospect list. Often real estate agents, insurance agents, and financial advisors send out holiday greetings and sometimes even a small gift! You may need to seperate this list out and send it out as your business with your professional portrait, not your family. We have you covered with lots of business holiday cards to choose from!
The people you live near are on their own special list. They might be your friends that of course you'll give Christmas cards to but you may not be on the closest terms. It could be a good idea to exchange cards anyway, so they know who lives near them and are familiar with your family. It's always good to be friendly with those next door just in case you end up needing a helping hand or even a cup of sugar.
We're going beyond your immediate family and casting a wider net. People like your aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews might love to get your Christmas Card. Consider sending to those that have just moved out of their parent's house. It makes them feel special to be included. This list might be the longest one of the bunch and potentially the hardest to keep up with addresses. It's your choice to send to everyone and spread holiday cheer far and wide!
The end of the year always feels a bit nostalgic. When we reflect on years gone by and remember the people of our past. Sometimes this is the only time you actually hear from those high school or college friends. Christmas cards are a way of keeping in touch through the years.
There are also old neighbors that you connected with years ago and your relationship is fading away. Rekindle that time of your life by sending out holiday greetings. Or perhaps your former coworkers are important enough to include on your holiday card list. These are the people that we were once connected to and it's nice to remember them during the holiday season. You can decide how many of these you want to send out and it doesn't cost much to stay in touch.
Consider ordering a few extra to send out for anyone that surprizes you in your mailbox! If they're that excited to send you a Holiday Greeting the first week of December, you know they'd love to recieve yours. Having a few Christmas cards on hand makes it easy to brighten their day. Make a note of their return address on your address list so that you can remember to send them a card early next year!
Christmas cards are a nice slice of life and are a great keepsake to track your year. Save your cards over the years to see how things have changed, and how they have not. Put your cards in a specal spot so that you can cherish the memories. You could even have a holiday display of your cards from the years, not just the cards you recieve. It's a great way to decorate for the holidays.

Keeping track of which addresses you've written on envelpes can be tricky. The easiest way is to include a column labeled "sent" so you can add an "x" with each one you write. So that you can write a few at a time and not get confused with which ones you've done already!
If hand-writing addreses are not your style, order envelopes with your addresses already printed on them. We have many designs to choose from with fun holiday elements. Upload your address list and save the time (and stress) of writing out each and every one. This way you can be sure they'll be legible for the post office too.
